Open Lab: The Bed Bugs – Real‑World Problems, Real Solutions

The Real‑Ento team successfully hosted a one‑day training course on bed bugs, bringing together 23 participants from associations, industry, academia, and international schools. Through lectures, hands‑on demonstrations, and collaborative discussions, participants gained practical insights into bed bug biology, identification, and management strategies.
Highlights of the Program:
Interactive sessions on bed bug biology, behavior, and laboratory feeding systems.
Microscope demonstrations for species identification.
Poster presentations showcasing laboratory practices.
Role‑playing activities where participants acted as stakeholders to design collaborative solutions for real‑world infestations.
Group discussions and presentations addressing challenges in dormitories, vulnerable communities, and the hospitality industry.
Participants expressed appreciation for the opportunity to learn and share experiences. The workshop emphasized the importance of early detection, community engagement, and sustainable management strategies to protect society from bed bug impacts.
