The RESCUE program offered a two-day Entomological Course for young scientists participating in the 'Zoologist Project,' organized by the Nature Education Foundation, on September 7-8, 2024.
Ten faculty members from the Department of Entomology at Kasetsart University served as instructors for the program. The course covered topics such as the World of Insects, Insect Classification, hands-on training with insect collection equipment, and pinning insect specimens. On the first day, students also visited an insect museum. The second day included a visit to the Bee Learning Center, where they tasted various honey products and studied the biology of harmful and beneficial insect species.
This program is designed to provide young participants with diverse experiences related to zoology, entomology, the environment, forestry, and fisheries, with a focus on understanding animals and natural ecosystems. The classes are led by professionals from various fields, helping students explore their interests for future career development. The course is part of a series of seven sessions running from June 2024 to April 2025. Participants will visit Kasetsart University campuses in Bangkok and Sriracha, Kaokhio Zoo Park, and Pukiah Wild Forest National Parks.
